Partnerships with Families
Gundagai Preschool is passionate about working in partnership with families and the community. Our educators understand that families are a child’s most influential teachers. We endeavour to create an environment that is welcoming where all families are respected. We encourage you to collaborate with educators and the management team.
Educators understand the modern family. We understand and recognise that parents are usually busy negotiating a number of priorities. In considering this, we endeavour to use a range of strategies to build and maintain relationships with Families.
These strategies include;
-
Enrolment and orientation processes where families are provided information about the curriculum and where they can share information about their child
-
Open door policy where you are welcome to visit the service (outside drop off and pick up times as staff are busy supervising children)
-
Communication strategies such as
– Informal conversations and chats
– Formal conversations and meetings
– Phone conversations
– Short notes and jottings about your child’s day
– News and general communication via the Storypark app
– Communication about the program such as goals, journal/day sheets, individual observations
– Questionnaires and forms sent home throughout the year
– Information from outside agencies
-
We encourage families to become involved and participate in the everyday curriculum. Share ideas with us, tell us what your child is interested in, share your aspirations and goals. We encourage you to share your expectations and values in relation to your child’s learning and development
