Partnerships with Families
At Gundagai Preschool, we are passionate about working in partnership with families and the wider community. We understand that families are a child’s first and most influential teachers, and we strive to create a welcoming environment where all families are respected. We encourage collaboration with educators and the management committee to support your child’s learning and development.
We recognise that modern families often juggle many priorities. With this in mind, our educators use a range of strategies to build and maintain strong relationships with families, including:
-
Enrolment and orientation: Families receive information about the curriculum and have the opportunity to share insights about their child.
-
Open door policy: Families are welcome to visit the preschool outside of drop-off and pick-up times, when staff are free to engage.
-
Ongoing communication:
-
Informal chats and conversations
-
Formal meetings and discussions
-
Phone calls
-
Notes and jottings about your child’s day
-
Updates via the Storypark app
-
Program information including goals, journals, and observations
-
Questionnaires and forms throughout the year
-
Updates from external agencies supporting your child
-
We encourage families to participate in the everyday curriculum, share ideas, discuss your child’s interests, and provide input on learning goals and aspirations. Your expectations, values, and insights are an important part of your child’s preschool experience.
