Gundagai Preschool Kindergarten adheres to the NSW Department of Education school terms. We are closed for school holidays and all public holidays. ​We have pupil free days that are set each year and communicated to families.

A full day programs operates Monday – Thursday. We follow school hours. Families have the option to utilise local school bus services. However, this service is independent to preschool and must be organised and arranged between families and the bus companies directly. 

Session 1 - Monday and Wednesday 

Session 2 - Tuesday and Thursday 

A half-day session operates Friday mornings 9:00am – 12:00pm. This program is designed to transition children from home life into the preschool environment. Mid-year enrolments are accepted once children turn 3. If your child enrols in the half day Friday session, they remain here for the whole school year and are unable to enrol in the full day sessions.

• children developing new relationships with adults and peers outside of their home 

• children developing physical skills. Fine motor skills through manipulation of tools and gross motor skills through outdoor play

• children developing problem-solving and creative thinking skills

• children developing responsibility, independence, confidence and self-worth 

• children getting ready for the transition to school and life transitions after preschool

• You will see lots of pretend/dramatic play, reading, play writing, counting etc.

• Staff watching, taking notes and intervening when necessary.
